Elina Ijäs

elina ijäs is an emerging Sámi artist and songwriter from Guovdageaidnu and Gáivuotna, on the Norwegian side of Sápmi. Singing in her mother tongue, Northern Sámi, she blends folk, pop and joik with an organic and atmospheric, yet powerful sound. Her poetic lyrics explore identity, belonging, and longing.

In 2023, she was named Young Artist of the Year at the Sámi Music Awards. In October 2025, she released her debut EP, Luoitte. The singles Mearragáttis, Guhkkin dál and Biekkat were recommended by the Norwegian national radio´s emerging music program, NRK P3 Urørt. She is quickly establishing herself as a new voice to watch from Sápmi.
