JUURINI

Juurini is the stage name of Joey Partridge, an Inuk artist born in Kuujjuaq, Nunavik, and now based in Montreal. Blending poetic songwriting with heartfelt storytelling, he writes and performs in Inuktitut, sharing messages of hope, resilience, and pride in Inuit culture.

Since releasing his debut EP in 2020 and his first full-length album Aqqutinni in 2023, Juurini’s songs have resonated deeply across the North, echoing through packed arenas in Nunavik and Nunavut. His music, often heard on CBC and community radio stations, has become an anthem for many Inuit youth embracing their language and identity.

Beyond the stage, Juurini is a dedicated community voice who travels across Inuit regions to inspire youth, strengthen cultural pride, and keep Inuktitut music alive for future generations.

In 2024, he was nominated for Contemporary Album of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards and for Best Indigenous Language Album at ADISQ, recognizing his powerful presence as both a cultural leader and musical innovator.
