LINUS JOHNSEN

Linus Johnsen (22) makes Sámi pop music with a progressive soundscape of yoik, rock and intricate rhythms. He grew up on the scarcely populated island of Dielddasuolu/Tjeldøya in Northern Norway, and is now based in Romsa/Tromsø.

Last year he won the title "Young Artist of the Year" at Sámi Music Awards, and won in one of three categories in "Pan-ArcticVision", and continues to make great impressions across the Sámi music scene.

His artistic goal is making people feel a sense of awe about the world and to feel connection to their roots, and hopes to bring that feeling forth at Arctic Sounds.
